Not a great film, but it'll be fun to see this in high def. Probably be able to see the truck across the river during the last scene much clearer now :P

It's nice to see The Duke's work at Fox being completely released on Blu ray (something that no other classic actor can claim yet), that is if you actually consider the disastrous transfer that was The Longest Day a Blu ray. Speaking of TLD, a remastered reissue for the 70th anniversary of D-Day next June would be completely appropriate. How about it, Fox? It'll have been SIX years by then since the original DNR and EE travesty was released. Since they've redone Patton, it only makes sense to redo The Longest Day.

Holy Smokes...FOX digitally removed the pickup truck from the last scene in the film! Not sure how I feel about that, as it was always something I got a kick out of seeing. But that said, the transfer of the film to high def is truly spectacular.

For those who love the Duke and the scores from his Fox films, we've just released John Wayne at Fox - The Westerns on CD - The Comancheros, North to Alaska, and this, The Undefeated. www.kritzerland.com. All the scores are very appealing, but the Bernstein and Montenegro scores are quite brilliant.
