Im about to build my first sub with a shiva sub, 16" sonotube, and a 250w amp.

My room is about 2500ft^3 with 3 openings to other rooms. Will the shiva be enough?

Also, I dont quite understand anything about tuning a port. Is there a good site that I should look at?

Where do I mount the Amp?

Also, I want a ported box that will deliver very good SQ and lots of SPL. Any design recommendations?

Alex,

I would go with a single Tempest. About tuning the port I would either download URL=http://www.linearteam.dk/winisd.html]WinISD[/url] or order Vance Dickason's Loudspeaker Design Cookbook off Amazon or from Barnes and Nobel.

As for the amp I don't know. I've never tried to mount a plate amp to a sonosub.

Good luck,

Travis
