Nailing a run on my skis or snowboard. Also - at the top of said run, looking around at the mountains.

When you walk down the steps and the subway comes.

When I clean off my desk. I hate doing it, but the results are to be savored.

Oh, yeah: a nice cup of coffee.

  • The view from the top. Of anything.
  • Hot-tubbing in the middle of winter, with snow falling.
  • A job well done.
  • A perfectly rev-matched downshift.
I'll add some more later.

"Nailing a run on my skis or snowboard. Also - at the top of said run, looking around at the mountains."
I'll second this one. Kinda like taking a jump that I actually land!

When my wife rests her head in my lap while we watch TV, and I run my fingers through her hair
I have to second that one too. Heck, most anything to do with my wife makes me :D

Hearing a child laugh, especially if it's a giggle and not a scream.

A warm fire in the fireplace or woodstove on a cold snowy winter's day.

The smell of saw dust.

A cold Mountain Dew in the morning.

Researching and learning new things.

Finding a really good web page.

Not waking up to an alarm clock.

Good beer.

Dropping the top in my car and finding a nice twisty road with no one on it.

Driving with the top down in the rain. As long as you don't stop you barely get any water on you, and the looks from other drivers is priceless.

Going to the movies on a Saturday afternoon and sneaking into a second movie.

Getting a movie from Netflix the day before it's released.

My CRT projector.

Walking up some stairs behind a girl with a cute butt :D

Pizza.

Getting to the movies sitting down and seconds later having the lights dim.

My cat jumping on my lap while I am sitting at the computer (unless I am gaming).

Fishing, I don't even care if I catch anything I just like being out on the water and find the whole process very relaxing.

Building things.

White chocolate.

When everyone in your band gets in the same great emotional zone during a song.
:emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: and to see everyone in the room dancing to something you are creating.

- When someone tells you you've done a good job.
- When something exceeds your expectations (The 1st cruise I went on, I was a bit apprehensive because I didn't think it was any big deal...Boy was I wrong!)
- When you're in the checkout line with a couple items and the person in front of you (with a FULL shopping carriage) let's you go ahead of them.

1. Singing and playing my guitar
2. Singing and playing my guitar for my girlfriend or friends
3. The sound of natural running/moving water (like near the ocean or a waterfall)
4. When I have time to curl up to a good book
5. Being in a traffic node (i.e. lots of cars a ways in front & behind me, but for some reason the immediate area I'm in is devoid of cars)
6. Rainy days (I live in So. Cal.)

I could keep going but I might get all weepy and have to turn in my "man card" :D

Excellent thread! I'll add a few:

Little Debbie Nutty Bars (I have been known to polish off an entire box of these)

When my 1 1/2 year old son walks up to me while I am sitting down and lays his head down on my knee for absolutely no reason

When a song is so moving it actually gives me chills (ie: Patty LuPone singing "Come to Me" in Les Miserables)

When I decide not to let my 6 year old daughter beat me at Super Smash Bros. Melee, but she does anyway (That's my girl!)

Mike, thanks for the heads-up on the John Connor quote - I knew I should have said "paraphrase" instead of "quote" since it's been a while since I saw T2. :b

- Sitting in the swimming pool after playing a round of golf in 100 degree heat
Whew, I can relate to that. I lived in Tucson last summer while I was doing an internship for the Arizona Daily Star - I couldn't believe it was still 90 degrees out at midnight. Yikes.

  • McDonald's fries when they're hot out of the fryer
  • Any Beatles song from the first couple of years
  • Spending an entire rainy Sunday reading a novel

Walking out of the gym after a good workout.

When the cute guy picks the bike in front of me in spin class. (Talk about carrot and stick! No matter how fast I cycle, I can't catch up! :) )

When I'm having a bad day and I remind myself that it's a new Buffy or Angel or Alias that night!

Sitting down to a nice cold pint with a good friend on the other side of the table. (Bonus points if it's on a patio on a sunny day or a dark corner on a snowy day.)
