In response to the "pet peeves" thread that's been so popular here, I thought everyone might appreciate a bit of optimism. To quote the great John Connor, "I think we need to be a little more positive here."
What are some things you really, really love? This doesn't have to be anything really deep, like "My wife and kids" or "Achieving a goal like graduating from college." Just the little stuff that makes you smile.
Here are a few of mine:
Getting a rebate check in the mail after you'd forgotten ever sending away for it.
When you're looking for a parking spot and you see the reverse lights of someone pulling out right in front of the office/store, opening a spot for you.
When the stoplight changes from red to green so you can coast right through the light.
Getting the last copy of a movie/game/book at the store.
When someone still has the courtesy to say "excuse me."
Being truly surprised by a twist in a book or movie.
When pre-orders are finally available!
When something makes you laugh so hard you are in tears, and just thinking about it makes it hard to stifle a laugh.
Experiencing something truly spectacular that makes you proud of what humanity is capable of - a glorious piece of art or music, a magnificent example of architecture or engineering, a profound book, etc... Okay, that one is a little bit deep.
Feel free to share!
