We thought they were brothers when we adopted them. But their adoption papers state they're born a couple weeks apart. We believe they were rescued from the same location, and same group of cats. But don't know if they're actually related :)

The funny, and problematic, thing is that "my" cat, Dash, is the younger (and most likely the runt of his litter) and has learned everything he knows from Mango. And he continues to emulate Mango. Which drives Mango bonkers, because Dash violates Alpha / Beta cat rules of hierarchy. The latest example, is that we made Mango a dedicated 'escape' space. But Dash eventually realized what was going on, and wanted to take advantage of it. Se we had to expand. And this is what snooze-time currently looks like:

Recently got three Australian Zebra Finches from my brother. They can breed a lot and he needed to clear out a few.

My Siamese cat couldn't care less they're in the house. Walks right by them, looks up and wanders off to her comfort zone. Just a big loveable lump of fur, I'm her buddy, the birds are boring. But heaven forbid a mouse gets in, she will hunt that thing for days.

Concrete foundation, but a few climbed the foundation, somehow crawled up under the metal siding and moved in under my dishwasher. She would stare at it for 5-10 hours at a time until I finally figured out what was happening. Trapped two, she caught the third, and the fourth one had to put down poison. If I can believe the hardware store, it dehydrates them and they leave, looking for water. No smell, no rotting body, cat is relaxed and no return visitors.

It's getting to that time of the year when people buy flowers and plants for their gardens, i couldn't believe the amount of plants that are bad for cats, a large list of them linked to below, so watch what you plant this year, cats can suffer.

Oh and for any new owners just getting into all this. here is a good guide.

Long time owners will already know most of this stuff.

According to your first link, there's not a lot I can grow and my pets should be dead by now.Luckily they normally don't eat the plants so things are okay.
The tulip thing was interesting. I had planted about 25 new tulips one fall. That following spring, they were just within a day or two of blooming, I was working in the garden, apparently not giving my black lab enough attention, so she wandered around the yard, I was facing away, and she bit off every tulip that was about to bloom. Ate some of them, brought some to me, like "Hi daddy, look what I did".

I was not impressed, but she never got sick.

My cats used to love the baby spider offshoots of the common spider plant...

I bought a very expensive orchid last year. Set it in my kitchen sink until I could prepare a pot and place for it.

My cat somehow tipped the thing over, so the orchid stalks and flowers were hanging over the sink facing the floor.
She jumped up and must have played for hours when I was out. Came home to a stick. She had eaten or beat every bloom to the floor.

13 years old, but they still have surprises for you.

http://feedly.com/k/1r8B4TEQuote:I knew I was in trouble even before I got Miklósi on the phone. After contacting nearly every animal cognition expert I could find (people who had studied the minds of dogs, elephants, chimpanzees, and other creatures), I was given the name of one man who might, just might, have done a study on cats. His name was Christian Agrillo, and he was a comparative psychologist at the University of Padova in Italy. When I looked at his website, I thought I had the wrong guy. A lot of his work was on fish. But when I talked to him he confirmed that, yes, he had done a study on felines. Then he laughed. “I can assure you that it’s easier to work with fish than cats,” he said. “It’s incredible.”
