If you stack the deck with things that are 100% true is that a bad thing? And i'm not talking about Moore here and i'm not trying to say everything he says is 100% true i'm just talking in general.

Suppose I made a documentary about water, and I stacked the deck in favor of the view that water is wet, did I make a bad documentary?

George, since you make an analogy using water, did you read the thread about dihydrogen monoxide? Literally every fact on that website was 100% true, but that does not mean the their "argument" for banning it should be taken serious. There were obvious other facts that must be taken into account before seriously considering such an action (communities in California not-withstanding :)).

Box office mojo lists 111 documentaries (excluding IMAX, and concert) that have grossed more than $100,000. In 2004, 10 docs have achieved this mark. Another film is still in release and should be into six figures this week. In addition there are four more recent releases that have the high profile to hit this figure. That would make 15 documentaries in all and we are only half-way through the year.

In 2002, 13 docs reached the $100,000 mark and last year 16 films passed this level.

The list of 2004 releases that should hit this, their all-time doc ranking, and gross in thousands.

001. Fahrenheit 9/11 .......... $32,314
004. Super Size Me ............ $ 9,512
009. Touching the Void ........ $ 4,593
025. The Corporation .......... $ 1,791
039. Control Room ............. $ 963
066. Still, We Believe ........ $ 397
085. Mayor of the Sunset Strip. $ 257
092. The Agronomist ........... $ 226
096. This Old Cub ............. $ 213
099. Bukowski: Born Into This . $ 187
112. Yves St. Laurent ......... $ 99.8
119. Imelda ................... $ 76

Kind of impressive, since it probably didn't play much outside of New England at all. Wish it were a better movie.

That was my thougth also. I also had to wonder how much business it did in New York. :)

As a Cub and Ranger fan, I don't have much sympathy for the Red Sox.
