It fills the frame on my set ,theres no black on the sides

There is definitely black bars on the sides of the raw image. Here is a raw capture with the anamorphic encoding removed, but with the pillar boxing on the sides retained:

Storaro supervised and approved the transfer, so he would have insisted on 1.66:1 framing. Gorgeous transfer.
