Yes, Im aware of that and a link above to amazon has it on that date as well....hey, it wouldn't be the first time a bogus release date was given on April 1st.

From Steve's Abbeyrd's Beatles Page
Update (2/19/03) Here's the text of the EMI press release for the release of the Anthology DVDs. Note the March 31 date applies to the UK; it's still April 1 in the U.S. (thanks to Bill King, Bob Dunn and MH Brown):
At Last 'The Beatles Anthology' on DVD
LONDON, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On March 31st, eight years after The Beatles themselves told the story of the world's greatest rock and roll band in "The Beatles Anthology," EMI will release the complete work on DVD -- but now featuring the final chapter; never-released footage of the last jam session of Paul, George and Ringo, playing non-Beatles material.
"The Beatles Anthology" DVD boxset features all of the original eight episodes that candidly reveal the story of how the four lads from Liverpool changed everything.
"The Beatles Anthology" was shown in 1995, when John, Paul, George and Ringo told The Beatles' story for the first time. At that time the Anthology project caused a worldwide sensation as it launched a TV series, three double-CD sets that each topped the album charts in the USA, plus "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love" -- the first new Beatles recordings in 25 years. All 10 hours of the original Anthology series will now be released across four DVD discs, plus an additional disc with 81 minutes of Special Features. Nearly all of the material included on this 5th disc has never been seen before.
For years, rumour has been rife among fans of the existence of intimate footage of Paul, George and Ringo jamming together during breaks in the making of the Anthology. This session and other get-togethers were filmed over a 12-month period when the three Beatles met in private and at Abbey Road studios. It includes the trio warmly remembering personal moments from their early days, reflecting on how they made their music and footage of them shot in the studio as they recorded "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love."
David Munns of EMI Recorded Music said: "We are really pleased to be releasing 'The Beatles Anthology,' which tells the story of their lives and careers in the medium of DVD. This was always a great series and the Special Features Disc will be a huge addition to the collection of any music lover and Beatles fan -- it provides an intimate and fascinating chapter to the story that continues to captivate the world."
Technically, the DVDs offer a spectacular audio/visual experience, featuring re-graded picture quality and new audio mastering including 5.1-surround sound and a new stereo PCM soundtrack.
The Beatles Anthology DVD will be released on March 31st, 2003 (in the UK; April 1 in the U.S.).
Comment: Several people have asked us if the "Real Love" video will be included in the DVD set. That's something we want to know as well and we're trying to find out the answer.

Some other BEATLES DVD news that came across
the wire this morning....
Sometime prior to Harrison's death there was
a private concert with Ringo, George and Paul
held in front of a small group of friends.
Someone videotaped it and it is coming out on
DVD next month.
Contains some Beatles favorites including songs
they did together before becoming famous.
Now.....
The information isn't clear whether this is a
separate DVD release or this is part of the extra
material contained on The Beatles Anthology.
Finally....
I am not sure many of you heard the recent news
of a second batch of Beatles audio tapes have
just surfaced. You can read about it here...

That's it!

This footage was shot during the making of the Anthology. A short clip from it aired on Good Morning America (or the Today Show?). It's hardly a concert, but more of an impromptu jam. The song GMA aired was "Blue Moon of Kentucky" and featured George and Paul both on acoustic guitars and Ringo on drums.

I saw the clip via an Internet download several years ago. I'm sure it's still out there on someone's hard drive somewhere...

I'm VERY excited to finally be able to see more of this "jam". I just hope both versions of the 'Real Love' video find there way onto the set.

Has the released date of April 1 been solidly confirmed? I was wondering since Amazon is the only e-tailer that has this item for pre-order.

The quotation below duplicates some of the bits of information in recent contributions, but I thought it brought some bits of info together quite well (it's fromDVD Reviewer for those interested).
According to the BBC News website, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison where recorded playing together at Harrison's Oxfordshire home in 1994 during the build-up to the release of their Anthology albums. ... The threesome played five songs ... Ain't She Sweet, Blue Moon of Kentucky, Raunchy, Thinking of Linking and Baby What You Want Me to Do, with Paul on the ukelele, George on guitar, and of course Ringo on the drums. This previously unreleased footage will feature alongside the BBC [? Thought it was ITV] produced documentary from 1995. A spokesman for McCartney said, "It's five old songs that they would have played in the days before the Beatles, it's really nice footage."

Thanks Paul, as soon as I left the HTF, I found 3 or 4 other vendors have this as a pre-order. Bestbuy.com has it at a good price. Do you guys think any B & M stores will have this cheaper than this?

Amazon actually has this a little cheaper than BestBuy.com if you use one of the $5 off coupons that can be found at DVDTalk. Both sites currently have free shipping offers.
