Hey Ron,

I think your ranting and raving about Sirius and their Totaly 70's station has worked!

Over the past few weeks the 70's channel has blossomed into a great channel! Hell I don't even change the channel now thats how good it has become.

The playlist has been greatly expanded and repeats durring the workday are a thing of the past.

About the only thing wrong with Sirius's 70's Channel now is they have Barry Williams (Played Greg Brady on the Brady Bunch) as the midday dj, and he stinks bad as a DJ.

I think the change was due to all your bitching and moaning, and that not a bad thing at all!

Hope to see ya at CEDIA!

Hi, Scott!

I have been listening to Totally '70s.

I think you are mistaken. It has not really changed.

Yes, they seem to be playing a wider variety of
music but it is the same stuff over and over again.

They seem to play music in cycles of a few hundred
songs. They'll repeat a cycle several times over
a month's time and then move on to another cycle.

If you compared the '70s music they are playing
on XM to what is being played on Sirius you will
quickly discover that there are hundreds of songs
that Sirius will not touch.

Again, I'll agree that they got away from their
classic rock format of nearly a year ago, but what
they are playing now is really no huge step forward.
For a channel that is supposed to represent an entire
decade of music, they haven't even made a dent.

Listen how many times they play BILLY JOEL and
FLEETWOOD MAC within a 2-hour period. Notice if
they still side more on the classic rock side.
Listen to how many times they play the softer side
of that decade with artists like THE CARPENTERS,
BARRY MANILOW, JOHN DENVER and NEIL DIAMOND.

Keep listening, I promise you'll hear the repetition.

The Sirius mantra is "play the hits" which they do
over and over and over again. They only want familiar
music played and will hardly go deep.

I will agree that Barry Williams is absolutely
horrible. He needs to go!
