Excuse me if this sounds like I don't know what I'm doing because I don't.

I have the radio shack SPL meter. I am able to adjust each speaker according to the test tones on the amp (Harman Kardon) but now I'm getting into it a little farther but that's where I need some help.

I burn't a test tone CD with all the frequencies from 10hz up to 300hz. along with a pink noise generator. I know that somehow you use this to fine tune your system but I having a hard time understanding it because I'm not sure what I'm doing, What exactly is the purpose of a test tone cd and how does one achieve the end result so that my system is at it's best performance?

Could someone give me some instructions as to what I should be doing in plain, not to tech language or direct me to a web site? This is new to me. I'm from the day when you had On, Off, tone and volume and that was it.
