Scare yourself silly and scream with laughter at this hilarious spoof of Hollywood’s hottest horror movies. When a young family, who can’t seem to stop filming themselves, moves into a house that turns out to be haunted, they meet up with a host of creepy characters -- including a horny vampire-hunting president who wants to emancipate their dragon-tattooed daughter. With help from the hysterically high-energy “Ghost Brothers” the family sets out to solve the mystery of the haunted house.

And the ghost of AIRPLANE! continues to be channeled by unimaginative Hollywood producers, with continually diminishing results. I think the last time I thought one of these was somewhat funny was HOT SHOTS!, which had a few good bits.

Airplane?? These guys are still trying to channel the Wayan Bros., back when they still owned the Scary Movie title. (Ie. before the Weinsteins took it away from them, and left it up to Jerry Zucker to do the rap-song and booty jokes.)
Scary Movie 1, of course, was trying to follow on the success of "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood", with the working-titled "Scream If You Know What I Did Last Halloween".
It's usually the black comics who do the "Big Overexposed Movies That White People Have Heard Of" jokes, as one might infer by the fact that we now get a Lincoln joke in the movie too.
Basically, remember Chris Rock hosting the Oscars?....Yeah. Kinda like that.
Hot Shots, Pt. Deux was THE last official pure-blooded Funny Zucker Comedy. (Back when Charlie Sheen was still relatively sane enough to get through an entire movie.)
After that, we got "Mafia!", and you could see the decline already happening.

I'm assuming that since they will be making fun of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, that they will have some outrageous sex or rape scene to get some T&A in.

    No thanks.
SPY HARD was the last parody I could stomach.
    This just sounds pathetic.
It's easy to make fun of other people's creative work.. Ridicule and mockery doesn't take much talent. I also question the ethics of producers who exploit the creativity and hard-earned success of other films for their own self-aggrandizement.
It is much harder and riskier to create something original. That takes real talent.

Forgot about that one. Not very good, but Weird Al's opening credits sequence and theme was pretty funny. Actually, it's the only thing I remember about the film.

You have a point there. Weird Al's opening title song is actually better and more Bondian than the opening title songs in CASINO ROYALE and QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Although SPY HARD came out first, it is almost a running commentary on those two films. So for that matter is

"I've been called the Father of Movie Parody, and...I'd like to apologize. :( "

(Oh, and Spy Hard wasn't Zucker/Abrams--
Despite being the first of Leslie Nielsen's "free-agent" movies, it was directed by Rick Friedberg--who had already directed some bad Leslie Nielsen comedy DTV's for VHS--and written by his son Jason, who teamed with Aaron Seltzer, and....well, YOU know.)
Also, considering that this was likely being filmed before Lincoln and Dark Knight Rises hit theaters, the filmmakers were obviously borrowing Disaster Movie's later-abandoned strategy of doing jokes about overexposed movie trailers, months before they hit theaters, so that the jokes would be "current" by the time the movie was released.
Of course, the downside is, you end up trying to make jokes about movies you technically haven't seen yet, and are basically guessing your way through in the dark based on two sick-of minutes, but hey, these things happen, can't make an omelet, and all that.

There's nothing inherently wrong with parodies. They're just tough to do well. (Something inherently wrong with Friedberg and Seltzer? Absolutely! ;) )
Scary Movie 1 and 3 were good. And Not Another Teen Movie was brilliant.
