Svideo output switch (1 Viewer)

I need the reverse of what a video switcher does. I need to take my svideo output from my A/V preamp and A-B it to my projector and big screen tv.

I have a cheap console switch that works remarkably well for what it cost. I was wondering if I reversed it, would it work? I would take the preamps svideo out and insert it into the switches out to tv output. Then run the switches A input to my projector and the switches B input to my big screen.

I would like to see if anyone tried this before I did. The switch should work in the reverse direction right? I do not want to risk any damage by playing around.

I tried it out and it worked but it does further degrade the signal some.
