SUB SPEAKER POSTS(+/-) TO RCA ON RECEIVER... (1 Viewer)

HI..Im trying to use existing pyle sub which has only speaker posts connecting it to new receiver Pioneer which uses one rca......went to radio shack got one rca plug attached to (+/-) 18 gauge wire and 2 banana plugs but still no sound on sub......ANYWAY I can make this happen??..thanx!

The subwoofer needs a dedicated amplifiert. The output (RCA) of your main receiver will need to be connect to an amplifier of some sort. Next, connect the amplifier's speaker outputs to the subwoofer. Do you have any old 2 channel receiver's sitting in a closet or anything? if so, it should work here.

What model subwoofer is it? If its kinda old and of unknown quality I'd look for something inexpensive. An old 2 channel receiver you might pick up at the local pawn shop for twenty bucks for example.

Be careful though, you don't want to spend too much on this project as you can get okay performing brand new subwoofers for $100-$125 or so.
