Alex,

Any reviews that are posted elsewhere have been obtained
through International channels. After all, the set was released

overseas this week.

We have received our screener. However, there is an embargo

in place for any site that received it from LucasFilm that the review

not be posted until release date.

Hope that answers your question.

Now this I find interesting...

How can they embargo a review? What do they do, take you to court if you publish it? Do movie studios do the same for first run movies if there is a prescreening?

Essentially all sites getting review copies (some aren't) are getting them on Friday. The title is embargoed until then. Will you see a review on Friday? Maybe, or it could post over the weekend. We don't want to rush them. Having date embargoes isn't actually all that unusual. you usually just don't notice. Due to piracy concerns Fox doesn't typically sent Blu-rays out for review ahead of the release date. What makes this release unusual is that it was released worldwide a week earlier so most of the world had access to it before sites and consumers in the US, and some sites purchased the overseas release for early review.

Yeah one of the reason I see an embargo as worthless this time. I don't know why they can't make the worldwide release date the same.

Listen, we are just as frustrated as you.

Imagine being told we can't post our review of Star Wars until Friday

and then watch as countless sites and consumers who purchased a

copy overseas post theirs.

There should have been one universal release date to make it fair

for everyone.

Amazon shipped mine last night and I got it about an hour ago. :) So far so good... I've made my way through deleted scenes and I'm going to put in A NEW HOPE in a few minutes.

I don't mind waiting if it means that the review will be a thorough and intelligent look at the set. I'm sure I'll be able to read any number of reviews tomorrow where the reviewer was more concerned about posting it quickly so they'll watch a couple scenes of each movie, deem it great or terrible, use the press release material as their look at the special features and that's the entire review. Everyone here knows that the HTF reviwers won't do that though.

I get embargoes, but when you release something internationally a WEEK before the U.S., what can they expect?

Yeah, I bet it sounds confusing.

That's why you don't see HTF or THE BITS with a review up,

not to mention a few other U.S. sites that received screeners.

Some sites have already posted their international BD reviews

as have members of the forum while we are required to sit on

our hands and respect an embargo date.

No, I mean, Mr. Gregorich is saying that the 'embargo' is a case of you guys not receiving your screener from Fox until tomorrow, while you're saying you have it, and your review is underway, but you can't post the review 'til tomorrow. Which is it?

I am not certain our reviewer received his screener yet.

Certainly not as of yesterday. Have not checked with

him today.

But yes, we were warned that copies might not get into

our hands until as late as tomorrow.
