I'll probably buy this one for the extended cut and PiP stuff. Never bought the DVD as I saw it in theaters. I enjoyed it more than most people.

I wonder if the featurettes are in HD...probably not or they would have mentioned that I'm sure.

I never bought Da Vinci earlier on dvd knowing that an extended cut would eventually be released in region 1. Is there a reason why the extended cut is only being released on blu ray? I could understand a blu only release if it was the theatrical version we sd dvders have already had a shot at but I would really like the extended cut IN dvd. Last time I checked dvd still was the biggest selling format so not releasing it simultaneously on both doesn't seem logical.

Might be the first of many subtle pushes toward a Blu-world.

    Two possible reasons:

    1) This is the first Blu-ray release; they may not think that a second DVD release will garner enough sales to make it worthwhile.

    2) Sony may be trying to drive adoption of Blu-ray players by offering a Blu-ray exclusive.

My guess is that they know that even the average consumer is sick to death of endless re-releases so they didn't even bother with a DVD release.

Well, I've waited this long so I guess I'll wait until Angels & Demons hits home video and hope that the extended cut is put on a dvd box set (fingers crossed).
