(August 13, 2012) – Sony Pictures Home Entertainment brings families the perfect stocking stuffer with adorable puppies and jolly musical numbers as 12 DOGS OF CHRISTMAS: GREAT PUPPY RESCUE scampers onto DVD and Digital October 9th. This festive tail follows 17-year-old Emma O’Conner (Danielle Chuchran) and her friends in their race against time and impossible odds to rescue the local puppy orphanage from an unscrupulous tycoon (Sean Patrick Flanery). The cast includes Sean Patrick Flanery (Powder), Danielle Chuchran (Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat, A Christmas Wish), D.B. Sweeney (The Event,Memphis Belle), and Radio Disney star Alli Simpson. This action-packed, fun-filled adventure is chock full of exuberant kids, rambunctious puppies and many other wonderful holiday surprises. The 12 Dogs of Christmas: Great Puppy Rescue DVD includes a unique version of “Jingle Bells” by Cody Simpson, the 2012 Kids’ Choice Award winner for Favorite Aussie Superstar. Bonus materials also include five featurettes that will take viewers behind-the-scenes and up close with the puppies: “What’s Your Favorite Dog?,” in which the cast and crew discuss their favorite dog; “Behind 12 Dogs of Christmas,” a look behind the scenes at the production of the film; “Working With Writer//Director Kieth Merrill,” in which the cast and crew talk about their experience with working with Director Kieth Merrill; “The Basketball Game Sequence,” which allows viewers to explore how the basketball game sequence from the film was created; and The Christmas Finale,” a making-of feature that delves into the last scene.

    Synopsis
    In this heartwarming sequel to the holiday classic, Emma (Danielle Chuchran) rallies her friends new and old to save a beloved puppy orphanage by putting on a musical holiday extravaganza.
