From what I can remember, the completely black speaker wire is postive (+) and the black wire with a white stripe is negative (-). Is that correct?

Both wires are actually the same so it really does not matter.

What is important is to pick a convention for your system and stick with it. Remember you have at least 10 connections (5 at the receiver end and 5 at the speaker end) and they all have to follow the same rule. So decide "Stripe/red/positive" or "solid/black/negative" and apply it everywhere.

Just make sure they match at both ends. [IMG][IMG]

My protocol is that any marked wire is positive. But in the end, whatever you go with just keep it all the same, as the others have noted.
