Hello
My name is Eddie and I am a beginer here.
I bought an used receiver a few days ago, but I dont know which speaker should buy.
My receiver is Marantz sr 5000 http://www.audioenz.co.nz/2001/0502.html and I have a small budget, under 200 or less.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
Eddie

I used to have an SR5000, excellent receiver. Probably one of the best eras for Marantz. I ran three 4 Ohm bookshelf speakers with it and it never complained so the amp section in that one is pretty stout and it should handle a pretty good variety of speakers. For $200, I'd take a look at the Infinity Primus line. Crutchfield sold out of the P162, but they still have the P152 as open box for ~$120/pr:

Check Craigslist for some good used speakers. I bought a pair of Infinity Beta 20's last year for $110. A C360 last month for $50! Two years ago a pair of Beta 50's for $225, all good as new. Sold the 50's soon after for a nice profit but I'm on the hunt again.

I do not prefer used speakers to buy just find the bargain audio products.

Used speakers can offer a much better value, if they're in good condition. And that website doesn't look like it offers anything I'd recommend in Eddie's price range. It's mosty high-end stuff and some Bose.
Sony speakers are O.K. for the price but I'd rather buy a good used pair of Infinity's or Polks, or just about anything else, instead.

Newegg will run specials on the Polk line that seems to be made for them.
I got a really good deal on some Monitor 60's and a CS20 center a few years ago. I love them, and they more than perform.

So it's a little more than your budget (260 give or take)....but this would be a good set for your marantz. I'd just find a cheap set of used bookshelf speakers for your rears. You could probably get somethign like that used for 40 bucks...have a nice setup for under 300 (I know you were looking for 200, just showing you something there).

It also looks like they have some nice promo codes too. You can get the Monitor 60's for 119 each.

Eddie's in New Zealand. I don't think Newegg will ship there for free if at all! :)
DOH! Didn't even notice.
Sorry :(
On the plus side, I'm picking up a set of those Monitor 50's and the Center. Put an ad up yesterday for my Sony set and someone bought them, so I'm going to grab those while on sale!
