Brilliant. I don't mind that they weren't more overt in their trashing of Scientology (instead using the Super Adventure Club). After all, they did that last season with "Trapped..." and if you've been following the news, you can easily figure it out for yourself. Furthermore, it keeps those COS vultures from banning this one like they cancelled the repeat of "Trapped".

"So sayeth the ruler of Baathos!"

All of you continuously keep using the word Brilliant!

And this episode was nothing short of BRILLIANT!

As I stated earlier, I only watch South Park through
the DVD releases. Just started Season 7.

I stepped out of that ritual to catch this episode
purely for the fact that it deals with current events
regarding Iassic Hayes.

Matt and Trey are brilliant! (there is that word again).

This episode is full of potshots at scientology,
brainwashing, and the boys giving Iassic the "finger"
for the manner in which he walked away from the show.
It was okay for Mr. Hayes to make fun of every religion
and race throughout the show's 9 seasons, but when
it came to the Super Adventure Club, all bets were off!

What is truly brilliant about this episode is that
as with most South Park episodes, the true meaning
of their message is often masked in other forms.
On the surface, the Super Adventure Club would
mean nothing if not for recent events involving Iassic
Hayes and Tom Cruise.

This was South Park in bold, true-to-fashion form.

Is this a "Paul is dead" thing?

Anyway, am I wrong, or do I recall correctly that in previous interviews about the show it never really seemed that Hayes quite completely got the humor and that he basically looked at it simply as a job for him to read these lines without considering their meaning very much or how what he recorded would ultimately be used?

Has anybody entertained the possibility of getting James Earl Jones to voice Darth Chef?

Or David Prowse.

Sadly, your instincts were correct. I understood where you were going and the only thing I could find connecting her with Scientology was this cached google search. It appears she is with the "Church of Scientology Artists Association". Looks like Hayes has a "monitor" making decisions for him now. It also appears as though somebody purposely tried to erase any history of Harnell and Scientology from the internet (but that could just be the conspiracy theorist in me).

A-HA!!!

Excellent sleuthing, Jed!

I didn't see anything when I did a search myself. I must have missed this.

We might be on to something here. Nobody who printed that last story has mentioned this at all, unless I missed something. To the presses!

Discussion Board Detective? So I figure that now this makes me famous or something? :D I may have to change my profile to reflect my new title.

Now I am probably going to get these nut bag scientologists knocking down my door. :frowning:

I hope they don't get me as an accomplice.

EDIT: I was perusing the South Park Studios site and came across this thread in their message board with some interesting info regarding Isaac. If this guy is on the up-and-up, and he really spoke to him, it seems to pretty much confirm what we were thinking. He updates later down the page.

Here's the link

This pretty much puts it to bed for me. Bye, Chef.

New episode tonight!

As a Prius driver in the Bay Area, I loved this episode!!

One detail they did get wrong though. The prevailing westerly breezes we get off the ocean blow our smug into the Central Valley where they choke on it.

Damn funny episode! I consider myself a sane environmentalist and Kyle summed up my feelings on hybrid cars at the end of the episode. However, that was another dead on accurate portrayl of how smug some people can act.

I loved the guy in San Francisco saying "Yeah, San Francisco is more like a European city like Milan or Paris."

I laughed my ass off when Ike said he wanted three hits of acid. And later, was tripping balls. :)
