I haven't yet dived into SACD or DVD-A, but they've pulled me in by releasing Dylan albums. I can't resist. Obviously I need an SACD player, but what else? What are the requirements of the receiver to get the best sound out of the SACD as opposed to just hearing the CD layer? It requires a 5.1 setup? What do they do to the music since it was recorded for mono or stereo and not 5.1? I'm sure these simple questions have been answered numerous times, so a simple link to another thread or another site with such answers would be great!
The lowest price I've seen is at Cduniverse.com for $174.98. Not all the Dylan discs are multi-channel. In additional, every multi-channel SACD also has a stereo SACD track as well. I have the sampler that came with the ltd. edition of "Masked and Anonymous" CD and while the 5.1 mix was OK, I personally preferred the tracks in stereo on mys system.
