Hi there everybody,


I'm just unboxing this device and I wonder what is the model of speaker connector that works fine here.


There are many models in the market, which ones should I take ???



Here's a picture of device's back.






This is my first home system, but I don't want just round wires around the connectors. I'd like to make something with bit more quality, with those plugs.




Can you help me since there are many models from MONSTER CABLE, ACOUSTIC RESEARCH, etc.

SS-FCR6500 = frontal big speaker = Speaker Terminal Type : Binding Post


SS-SR7000 = surround and central speakers = Speaker Terminal Type : Push Type




So, which connectors should I take ?

I've always used Monster cable for everything that I do audio wise. Generally for attaching to the back of an amplifier I have mostly used gold plated connections and as for the post connections I just trim the cable sheaths and try to do a neat tidy job with a good contact all round as the rear of my speakers are the type that pinche the cable directly and don't require an additional attachment.


No doubt many other types of cable are suitable but Monster is my personal preference.

You're over-thinking this one. Any banana plug will work just fine; you won't hear any difference in the sound. If you really feel the need to go high end, get a connector with gold plating. And then get the cheapest in that category (which won't be Monster).


Note that I wouldn't get the u-shaped connectors. Banana plugs are so much easier, and since you're taking the time to attach a connector you might as well use one that makes your life easier. (Some receivers don't have banana plug holes, then you'd use the other.)

check out mono price .com cheapest place around and good quality i ordered 100 feet of 12 gauge wire and like 15 pairs of connectors from them and its was 55 shipped to my door . use banna plugs for all the speakers going into the reciever and then you can use pin type connectors for the push type terminals and bannana's for the binding post terminals that's what i did .
