Sony Pre-Announces EQNext (1 Viewer)

Many of you know I am a huge Everquest 1 nerd. I went to the SOE Fan Fair this week and Sony announced that EQ "Next" is in full development and solicited input. They aren't calling it Everquest 3 but that is presumably the name.

I played EQ back in the day. I played enough to know the Plane of Fear and Hate sucked. I moved on to WoW for a long time. I did try to play EQ2, but I just couldn't get into it. They released it with so many problems, at that time it really confirmed that Sony didn't get a damn about the product they were trying to sell. Went to WoW and never looked back. After EQ2 i'm not really sure if I would give them another chance, even though their game was nice to look at. Not playing anything at the moment, jsut don't have the extra time!

I played EQ way back in the day. Took a few years off then started with WOW. Been playing it since. I am really stoked about all the changes happening with Cataclysm comming out next month. even so I am over playing a fantasy style MMO. I don't have the time or money to play two MMOs so I probably go to something like Star Wars when it comes out next year.

EQ3 may be good but I am too over that same old tired setting.

BTW At SOE Live this year they told us they nuked everything that had been done so far and had restarted EQ Next. They swore to us it would be -playable- at next SOE Live, but they wouldnt say when that would be,
So sticking with EQ1 for the forseeable future. 19th expansion comes out in 2 weeks, Rain of Fear.

Tonight at SOE live Smed introduced Jeremy Soule (of Skyrim fame) as the composer of the EQN soundtrack and we got to listen to one track, which sounded great. Full re-reveal is tomorrow, noon pacific, 3 eastern. I will be there up front!
