In the movie there's a sense of some interaction that might be that they recorded every possible answer to questions he may ask, or if Donner had done part II that Jor-El was appearing as a spirit (and has to give up the ghost to give Supes back his powers).

Similar to Will's theory but in a different direction, it could just be an AI of Jor-El. His intelligence downloaded into the ship and the caves.

Here's a thought. It's clear that they are well aware of comic continuity, and sort of tease us with it. But they also do seem to be making a good faith effort to "explain" it (i.e. how/why Lex is bad).

My thought after last week is this. "Kal's" bender in Metropolis is pretty public. And Clark certainly has always dressed/acted like a "cool" kid.

But because of what he's done in Metropolis as "Kal" when he returns later in life as "Clark" he's going to have to lay much lower... and probably dress/act a lot, well, more "mild mannered". Hmmmm. Maybe wearing fake glasses could help that. Just a thought. :)
