Sequels better than the original... (1 Viewer)

Some folks have been talking about how bad MIB2 is. Especially Mr. Dugger... On the flip side of that coin, what sequels have actually been a better film than the original?? My obvious vote is "Aliens."

Any more???

I guess I would have to say "Austin Powers, the Spy who Shagged Me" is pretty close.

I certainly would not be willing to argue it, but I would agree that a case could be made for T2. T1 vs T2 could go either way, and it seems my favorite of the two is whichever one I watched most recently.

While I enjoyed the first installment, there is nothing remotely as funny as Fat Bastard is in TSWSM. Plus Rachel Herman was a lot of fun too. Being off topic, I don't wanna get into this too heavily. I still respect your opinion.

I can't say any sequal I have seen is better than the original, but The Empire Strikes Back is probably the one.

Aliens is close but Alien is pretty awesome, same with The Godfather. I also like T1(T2 is too bubble gum for me), Batman(The Joker takes it), Austin 1(didn't like A2 that much) much better than the sequals.

How about the second Indy and the second Back to the Future thingy. I have no opinion on Indy and I don't think I saw any of the Back to the Future ones except the first. Jaws 2, anybody ??

Well I'm one of the few who prefer the darker toned Temple of Doom to the slapstick Last Crusade but both aren't in the same league as Raiders IMO.

Sometimes I find that I like Back to the Future 2 more than the first installment. You get the future, the past, and an altered version of the present...so how can you lose
