Wow, sure glad I stumbled onto this thread. I've been jonesin' for the 2005FPW and almost ordered it last week at list. I just used the 25% off coupon from the deals page. Being a TX resident I have to pay sales tax on this but still a killer deal, especially since this puppy will be doing double-duty - it will be the 2nd head on my main Dell monster A/V editing box (via the DVI input), and the monitor for my new Mac Mini (via the VGA input).

Dave, your link above just takes me to an Ofoto login page.

Cool. That's actually pretty close to the way my setup's going to look, what with the Linksys equipment, the Mac Mini, & the 2 iPods (although my Shuffle has not arrived yet).

Dave:

Why did you decide to go with the Axim 30 instead of the 50v or 50?

Cool setup BTW. How do you like the new Mac mini?

Here is another cool toy.

Dave Scarpa,

Isn't it ironic that in your Macintosh desktop setup the smallest device next to the mouse pointer itself is the Mac Mini CPU box? ;) (I exclude the iPod units because I don't consider them part of the desktop setup.)

This is incorrect. I wish manufacturers would stop putting that spec on their boxes. That video card can actually go up past 1920 x 1200, just like all 6800 cards, or at least, every single 6800 card I've encountered.

Actually, I got that spec from their web site. However, I have since read one post over on Anandtech.com where someone mentioned their 6800 GT doing 1920x1200 without any problems. So it seems that it is possible. I am now de-bummed. ;)

The display must support "reduced blanking", otherwise, the maximum resolution is limited to 1600x1200. So, does the Dell support this technology?

Come on, video card makers!. I thought we were in an age of dual 2560x1600 displays....

I got my 2500FPW today. Awesome monitor. I'm now running dual-headed off of the nVidia card in my main Dell box, and I love it. And a click of the input button switches me over to my Mac Mini.

Highly recommended. :emoji_thumbsup:

Craig,

What did you pay for it?

I'm still in the long-wait for a
$800-900 pricepoint on this.

I am glad that I flimflammed for so long on buying the 20" LCD monitor (funds were a problem at the time as well). I really want/need component input (for XBox/DVD).

If this bad boy gets anywhere near the $800-$900 range with coupons, I'm not even going to hesitate...

As soon as Gabe gets some coupons for this for the deals page I am sure he will give us all a heads up.

What is the price on this monitor
as of now?

Oddly, I could not readily locate
it on the Dell site.

Guys, I got the 2500FPW - the current 20" monitor, not the new 24" inch. I just don't have the room for the big boy.

Sorry for the confusion. There was a lot of talk about the 20" and I forgot the thread was originally started to talk about the 24". :b

I ordered it today.

The price was $1079.10 shipped since they are running a 10% discount and free shipping promotion until Wednesday.

The wait time for delivery was listed as 1-2 weeks, hopefully giving me enough time to piece together a computer that can drive this display.
