I am looking for suggestions on a 60-70" LED Smart TV. My price range is say 1000-1500. As a reference I found this: Vizio 65" M651D-A2 Theater 3D Smart for $1300. Is this any good? Are there better for the same price? Suggestions please.

Buy a plasma. Less money, better in every single way.

LCD TV(of which LED is just a backlight)

    Pros:
    Power consumption
Brightness (and this is only a "win" if you place your TV right next to a window and watch between 11-2 in the afternoon)

    Negatives:
    Contrast
    Motion artifacting
    Color gamut
    Hot spotting
    Ghosting

    Plasma

    Negative:
Power consumption (when in reality...when both plasma and LCD are producing "black"...the LCD uses more energy)

    Positives:
    Color Gamut
    Motion control
    Contrast
It can't ghost or hot spot.

I'm biased towards Sammy (Samsung) with a 240Hz refresh rate. Then again, that's just me. I have a UN55D7000, love it. Have owned Sony in the past, like Sammy much better.

You mean LCD backlit with LED(we like to be purists).

Do you want edge-lit? or back-lit?

    Edge-lit pro is "thinner"

Back-lit pro is it doesn't have issues like edge-lit(go to Best Buy, I was there Saturday. They had 7 open-box Edge-Lit LCD returns).

To get better than that Vizio youll need to decrease the screen size or increase your budget.

Or drop the smart features from the TV and get a Roku for $60-100.Panasonic 60s60 is around $1000.
