It was released in January of 2000 here in the states. Since I live and watch films in the U.S. I consider it a 2000 film.
Apparently some people think that the U.S. is the center of the Universe...alas, it is not! :D
Eye of the Beholder is a 1999 film, regardless of when it first appeared in the US.

Totally agree Bill... a films birth is its birth anywhere in the world not within the confined borders of the U.S. of A. I thought that was obvious, but I guess it hasn't filtered down to a select number of individuals yet... I'm still laughing at how some Americans consider the release dat of "In the Mood For love" to be 2001... hahahaha

It's a whole big world out there keimosabe's...

No I don't think the US is the center of the world. I'm comparing the movie to other films released in the United States in 2000. I'm sure people in other countries do the same when a movie is released there. It's hardly something to get in an uproar over. Besides if you look on IMDB you will see that in many other countries the film was released in 2000. I guess someone in Japan should get flamed if they considered the movie a 2000 film as well.
