One of my all-time favorite "lesser-known" movies. Intense, brutal and very well acted. (Jon Voight and Eric Roberts are great, Rebecaa DeMornay tolerable)
I know I'm not alone in praising this movie.
Anyone?

Runaway Train was a fun movie. Great acting, some nailbitin' suspense, and a big ol' locomotive gainin' speed. Saw it in the theatres and quite a few years ago on TV, have to look at renting it. Thanks for the memories.

I like this movie too, though I haven't seen it in years. Career high points for Eric Roberts and Rebecca DeMornay. The end shot -- with Jon Voight on top of the train like Man Mountain Dean -- is chilling and haunting.
The DVD isn't anamorphic, but how's the transfer?

I've always wondered something - why didn't they go to the last engine and decouple that? Helluva movie, very brutal in all ways.

Pretty good movie. I just wonder how good it would have been had Kurosawa actually followed through with it...

My top ten movies that need to be on dvd:
1. Akira Kurosawa's Dreams 2. Freaks 3. Men With Guns 4. The Ninth Configuration 5. The Reflecting Skin 6. Santa Sangre 7. Treasure of the Sierra Madre 8. Voyager 9. White Heat 10. Wings of Desire

Now this is more like it Scott, I love this movie, very underrated, gritty and exciting, both Jon Voight and Eric Roberts were excellent, Voight especially was unbelievably good and unrecognisable as Manny the hard as nails con, John P.Ryan as warden Ranken was great too, totally obsessed with capturing Manny, and that ending, Manny on top of the doomed train arms apart, waiting for death....wow!
