I have a Marantz SR8200 which has a "remote IR port" on the rear of the unit which according to the limited documentation(owners manual) is for connecting an IR repeater when the receiver is housed in a closet or other remote location where the IR remote-control can not communicate with the receiver.
The port appears to be a 1/8" phono plug, although again the documentation doesn't specify the actual makeup of the plug type.
Question: Does anyone have any experience using this "remote IR port" hookup and know where I can find(buy) the correct type of IR repeater to utilize?
I'm not sure if it matters in choice of the repeater cable/sensor, but the SR8200 uses a bidirectional(transmit & receive) IR protocol to communicate with its RC3200 remote-control.
Thanks,
Al
