Numerous web-sites have stated that Sony will likely announce a $100 price drop on the 60GB PS3 at next week's E3. The announcement is predicted for July 12th. Even if Sony does not announce an across the board price drop at all retailers as predicted, a major retailer will have the PS3 on sale for $499 from July 15th thru July 21st. I believe that the Forum rules prohibit naming the retailer, or posting a scan of the ad, until the ad has been made available to the general public / is in circulation (which should be on Saturday 7/14 at midnight). I have seen an ad scan for this retailer and can confirm the $499 price. This $100 price drop (or sale), along with the 5 Free Blu-Ray movies, makes for a nice deal. See this thread for details on the 5 Free Blu-Ray movies: http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=258985 GameDaily and Cheap Ass Gamer are both reporting this likely price drop and you can check out the articles here: http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/feature/?id=16721 http://www.cheapassgamer.com/archive...ts-july-12.php If you are contemplating an imminent PS3 purchase, it would probably be beneficial to hold-off for the next 10 days or so. Stay tuned for further details.
