ps2 has hard time with DVD's (1 Viewer)

Hello,

My playstation 2 has no problem playing cd's or games.
But almost all movie i put in ends up coming up with a "disk read error". Any suggestions?
might it just be a dirty lens?
if it was the lens, then i wouldn't understand why the games and cd's work just fine.

Mine also exhibits this behavior, but only on a few specific DVD's in my collection (and not to any of my games, yet). There's a couple threads about it I think you can search for, a few people have tried blowing out parts of the system with canned air and gotten some success. If you haven't violated the warranty (i.e. opened up your PS2), you might try contacting Sony about it.

I had the same problem and fixed it with a can of compressed air from Walmart.

Open up the CD tray, stick the extension tube in there and let her rip. Worked like a charm for me.
