Problem with Denon AVR-3801 (1 Viewer)

I have had this Denon for many years. Always worked well. I have moved and now when everything is hooked up, the DTS works fine, but it does not recognize Dolby Digital 5.1. I need to confess that I did not know how to hook everything up. I got a new plasma and the BB guys did the hook ups. They've tried everything they know. I can't think why DTS would work and DD not, unless there is now something wrong with the receiver.

Can anybody give me an opinion on this?

IF it IS the receiver, what could you recommed a new one for me?

Alon: Thanks SO much! I will use your example and go check things out. I hope that is all it is. If not, I had heard of the AVR-2807. It is $1,099 locally, but have seen for $745 online. No shipping.
