Subject: Price Match on Panasonic 47WX49
Hi,
I would like to pricematch on the Pansonic 47WX49. It's a 47" Rear
Projection HDTV. I've located it for $1699 + 82.07 shipping & handling atwww.ibmega.com. IBMega is an authorized Panasonic e-tailor. I've enclosed
GIF screenshots of the Panasonic site showing they are authorized and the
IBmega price.
What needs to happen so I can purchase this set from Sears online for
this price? I can also purchase it from the local sears. I just want to
make sure I get the price match before my purchase.
Much thanks in advance,
Ryan Pream

Not much help eh Ryan...I guess you'll have to go into Sears and ask a salesperson if they'll price match. Keep us updated as I'm following your adventures with Sears but I haven't decided b/t the 47wx49 and Tosh 50h81.

The same customer service rep. sent me the exact same response. You need to call them. However, when I called I couldn't apply for a Sears Card to get the 10% off deal. They said I need to go into the store. So I'm in for another fight.

Did they tell you that they would pricematch IBmega? I have a Sears card so I don't think the 10% will work for me.

I didn't ask the online service rep. but I did go into Sears (Town Center) and the guy I talked to in TVs had a pricematch form and was ready to start dealing but he told me I couldn't get the 10% off for opening a Sears account. So I told him I would try elsewhere. I went to Sears (Northpoint) and the sales rep told me she wouldn't pricematch. So next week, I'm off to try a few more stores.

I responded to the email from Sears and asked them to tell me something useful this time. Their policy on price-matching seems pretty clear. The only way I can see for them to get out of it is to say that the vendor is not an "Established Online Retailer". When I am ready to buy the set, if they won't pricematch I am just going to keep going up the food chain until someone gives in. I'm bringing my email from Sears online with me.

Well here is a reply from Sears to my reply to their reply :). I guess you have to buy it first. I'm going to raise hell if they refuse to pricematch after I buy it.
You just told me to do what I already did! I am ready to buy this set and
want to pricematch it. Do I have to place the online order at the unprice
matched price and then email you? I was hoping to get the price adjusted
beforehand.
Thanks.
