Nice tip(s) to keep the "Find My iPhone" feature from being turned off by a thief.

The person in that link suggests a four digit password isn't super secure, which is true. But iOS supports longer and stronger alphanumeric passcodes...just turn the Simple Passcode preference to OFF.

Thanks. I've recently turned my passcode off. It was a constant annoyance having to enter a 6-digit code everytime I wanted to do some little thing on my iPhone.

I may turn it back on, but I'll look into the Find My iPhone setting to at least secure that.

But, the commenters also note that a Restore wipes the code (and all personal data). So a smart thief that only wants the hardware will do an immediate wipe and then disable the passcode. So it will help you catch the slow thief and the stupid thief, but not the fast and smart thief :)
