No news....then again, I haven't asked.

I was told first-hand from the studio early 2005

that it was put into production for DVD release.

I would think the title is ready to go, just

awaiting a release window.

I guess this not being announced in WB's BIG announcement can be taken as perhaps not real great news. (Possible future announcement) I just hope WB doesn't sit on a "ready to go out the door to the stores" DVD with this title like FOX did with "All That Jazz". As mentioned in the prior post, what kind of a "window" they are waiting for? :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

The studio says 2007. It will be released as part of an upcoming Burt

Lancaster set.

That's a little later than I'd prefer to see, but later is better than NEVER, as in "Robinson Crusoe on Mars" & Paramount! I certain hope it is the proper length & AR. I'd love a nice set of extras if possible. I'm curious about the other Lancaster films. Hopefully "Twilight's Last Gleaming" will be available on its own if I deem the other films in the set as titles I'm not interested in. Thanks for the new & positive news on this favorite film.

Bob,
The studio has gone silent.
Last I spoke with them, the title was due for release this year.
I have to be limited in what I say here, but there was one
additional item that the studio wanted to consider that may
be coming into play here that could still preventing this release.
I am confident that this title is still in the works, but having
a little more insight into what may be happening, I think the
studio is intentionally delaying TLG in order to offer
the best possible release it can.

My optimism from 18 months ago has left. I'm now unhappy with the delaying of the release of this title. The only thing in my mind that really justifies a continued long term delay is if we're going to get a multi-disc extra packed Blu-Ray release. If there is no possible Blu-Ray release on the horizon, then get the title out the door! :frowning:

I just stumbled on this thread as I'm cleaning up and going through some old movie tapes from off HBO to see what I can get rid of. Not this one apparently. There are a lot of great 70s movies yet to come out - Badge 373Report to the Commissioner, 92 in the Shade, Sky Riders, Fast Break, Freebie and the Bean. What gives?

I stll want "Twilight's last Gleaming" out the door ASAP, but I'll take "Report to the Commissioner" too!

Well how much LONGER is WB going to sit on this title? :frowning: When are the "Highly" paid executives going to figure out a date to release this title. One chance has already been lost when it was not released with the Lancaster box. How many "YEARS" must we wait? I don't want to be dead & buried when it gets released. :frowning: :frowning:

Jeff,
First of all, do us all a favor and downsize your signature
font considerably, please.
Okay....
Listen, I am perhaps one of the biggest fans of this film which
kind of puts you in a fortunate position since I have been continually
talking with the studio regarding this title.
As far as I know the situation that is holding up this title's release
has not changed. Warner has the opportunity to do something better
with this release but it means that they need to further delay it. That
is all I can say.
The title has not been forgotten.

I appreciate your info but....I have to wonder about the priority this title has in the scheme of things.
Again I can only internally justify & accept any further long term delay if we're going to get a restored multi-disc, extra packed Blu-Ray release.
But, who am I. Certainly not someone with any power & influence. Just a nameless, faceless citizen with a few $$ to spend on a movie.
So I just sit & wait.......................... :frowning:  :frowning:

Jeff,
I can't speak for the studio.
However, I say again that while this title is on their priority list
it needs to sit a while longer for reasons I would agree with
the studio to be necessary.

I might as well chime in too, since I'e been quite vocal about my desire to see this title out the door ASAP! I was going to hold off for a couple more weeks before asking.

As I said in a prior post, this is the only circumstance that I can accept for a long term delay. But of course, my voice is but one tiny one in the vast wilderness. ;) ;)

Situation has not changed.
When this title is finally announced I hope I can talk a little
more about why it was held up for all this time.
