What these companies fail to see is the fact that the longer they wait to release a TV show or seasons 2 on up (if sales for season 1 were bad), is the fact that the longer they wait to release them, the less of an audience that will be interested in buying them. Fans of MTM are getting older every day. There is a window before those fans either get so old they no longer care, or simply die. The young people who never saw the show in the first place, won't generate the same type of interest as those original fans who grew up watching the show. This may explain why crappy recent shows like The Anna Nicole Show may be released today, while older shows like MTM continue to be ignored. Let's face it, for fans of these shows....time is definitely not on our side.
