Me too although it was serviceable before I had an HD Widescreen TV.. I held off getting the German DVD in case this movie were to come out on blu ray and Im glad I did

That's what I'm wondering, too. I doubt it, but I'd love to be pleasantly surprised. I already have the excellent Italian DVD and would only consider upgrading if the Italian version was included.
