Pioneer/Toshiba HDMI compatability? (1 Viewer)

Just hooked up my Pioneer VSX-1020 to my Toshiba 46G300U1. Was using component cables, but wanted to upgrade as my BluRAY Library is growing. The trouble is I can not get the two talking via HDMI. Are there any outstanding issues between these devices. I can't even get the GUI interface. Any help would be appreciated. Joe

Were both "off" and unplugged from the wall before you connected the HDMI?

The devises were off but not unplugged.

Nobody out there has any ideas on this issue! I powered every down and unplugged and still nothing. Blank screen and the TV turns off after several seconds.
