I'll take a snap shot as soon as I get home, but I wanted to see what your guys' HT's look like. I know mine won't be as astonishing (sp?) as your guys', but hey, I am still some of a newbie at this!

Have you tried pulling your front speakers a bit farther forward, and separating them a bit more? If you have the ability to do so, I think it would significantly improve your soundstage. (You will probably have to alter the toe-in.)

Regards...

BenS,
The speakers are front effects. Yamaha has the DSP modes of 2 front channels, 2 rear channels, Center, Right & Left and Subwoofer output. The front surrounds create extra depth & width when listening to music and theater modes. For instance I can select the RoxyTheater mode and it sounds like the Roxy Theater (from Los Angeles) or the Village Gate (from NYC) jazz club ect...
BTW, my front 3 speakers excluding the surrounds are Martin Logans;)
and to Chuck C,
thank you I had fun putting the system together:)

Ben -

In Will's theater, those are front effect speakers - a Yamaha thing.

On the Avia setup disc they mention something a bit confusing to me. They say something like the fronts should not be farther apart than the width of the screen. that would put them right up agains the screen would it not?

I would like to pull the speakers apart some more, but due to the layout of the room it is not possible. They used to be in each of the front corners and the sub was next to the TV, but that was in the old setup.......long gone forever.

Mine is in the sig. Please ignore the sound set up. I can only upgrade one thing at a time!

Ask again in about a year and hopefully I'll have some pictures for you. :D
