Raymond Burr will forever be the "definitive" Perry Mason.

Just like Sean Connery is James Bond, Warner Oland is Charlie Chan, Basil Rathbone is Sherlock Holmes, Johnny Weissmuller is Tarzan, Clayton Moore is The Lone Ranger, Richard Basehart is Admiral Harriman Nelson and Roger Moore is Simon Templer aka The Saint, etc.

Argue if you will but we will never see their respective kind again in the roles that all these fine acting talents were born to play.

Considering he was fatally ill at the time Mr. Burr still looks (reasonably) fit and performs the (familiar) role as splendidly engaging as ever in the made-for-television film PERRY MASON: THE CASE OF THE KILLER KISS (1993).

It's really too bad that as "his" Perry Mason incarnation had (triumphantly) caught on once again that the man's health just gave out at the wrong time.

Rest in Peace Raymond Burr. Thanks for some great courtroom drama!
