I'm referring to the "standard-width" clear cases that can hold 6 discs (like Beauty and the Beast, 7th Heaven, and others). Two discs are held on each inner cover, while the remaining four are held on two inserts. There's no overlapping discs, and it saves a lot of shelf space.

Anyone know who makes these cases and any place that sells them?

    Mike,

These guys have what you're looking for: six and even eight dvd standard (more or less) width cases. I've purchased multi-disc cases from them before, and they are quite dependable.

    Roy,

Thanks for the reply, but those aren't the cases I'm looking for. I've been using these cases for the last year and a half:

    http://www.shop4tech.com/item3706.html

They are 14mm width spines (the standard keepcase width) and have worked pretty well. However, the case holds two discs on each inner cover and they overlap. The cases Paramount/CBS has been using also have a 14mm width, but do not have any overlapping discs.

Unfortunately, most online shops I've seen only offer either the case I've linked above (which is fine), or the 26mm and wider spines like sleevetown has (which is too thick for my liking).

Thanks to new member Bob Flaminio, the cases have been located!

One problem, though: They're ~$2.75 US dollars each!!![IMG]

Now if someone can find a stateside dealer selling these for under a buck, I'll give you a shiney nickel.*

Hey those ARE sweet cases. I wish i could find the double slims too. The ones found on most sites are not that slim as the Paramount ones.

There's a US distributor now for six disc 14mm cases:

PolylineCorp.com has slimline DVD cases, both single and double. About 30 cents each in quantities of 100 or more. I use them all the time. They're about half the width of a keepcase (think they're the same width as the slimline cases that Fox uses on some of it's TV on DVD product).

Polyline also have something I've not used before called an "ultra" slimline that's slimmer than standard cases.

You can call their number and ask for a free sample of any product. They also have sample "kits" (i.e. a kit with one each of their single disc cases and a kit with one each of their double cases). These kits are also free.

Dredging this topic up once again to see if anyone knows of any company aside from the site linked in post #4 selling these CBS-style 6 disc cases.

eBay doesn't have them, nor do any of the usual US-based sited I've checked.

It still looks like the only option now is the Aussie-based site, but it'll cost ya: >$2.50 USD/keepcase and only if you buy them by the 100 pack!

Sorry to resurrect such an ancient thread; I couldn't find anything more recent. Has anyone ever come across the dvd cases mentioned in this thread: 14mm, 6-disc, clear, with two trays? The kind that CBS used for Mannix, and that Warner Archive used for Harry O and Spenser For Hire. Over the years I've looked so many places with no success, so I thought I'd try HTF and see if anyone else has ever had any luck finding these. Thanks very much.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the same as what you're looking for, but they were close enough for me. With dwindling shelf space and a lot of home-brew DVDs these are a pretty good choice:

Mark, thanks for the link. I have been using something like those. I like the 14mm for clearing up shelf space (and those pesky "home brews"). I can with live with them, but I was hoping that I might someday find the 14mm that have two swing trays in the middle to eliminate the overlap.

Amazon UK has the two-tray versions (search on Four Square Media), but I can't see anyone who ships to the U.S.

Hey David, thanks for the tip. The picture on those looks right, but when I read the description and reviews it turns out that what people receive are the cases with the one tray and the overlap. I had a similar thing happen to me with Amazon.com a few years ago where I ordered based on the picture and the cases I received were of the one-tray variety. I suspect if I ever find the kind I'm looking for it will be some company that will make me buy 20,000 or more like CBS does when they order cases and that's a few more than I'd ever need.

Sam, thanks for the suggestion. I have looked at sleeve city, and quite a few other on-line retailers, but so far have not found the exact thing I'm looking for. I'm thinking I probably never will, but every once in a while I poke around. When I noticed this old thread looking for the exact thing I've looked for, I figured it was worth another try. I appreciate your recommendation/

SuperMediaStore has a case that's 14mm with two trays and no overlapping discs.

Andy, thanks a lot for that link. I have come across those before, and so far I've been holding out for the clear ones so the inside cover art is visible.

Best of luck. I really hope you find what you're looking for (I prefer clear cases myself), but I suspect you might only be able to get the clear ones as imports, as I've not seen many multi-disc cases (other than double disc) in anything other than black from Stateside vendors. There do seem to be more clear options overseas, but shipping costs are very prohibitive.
