My current setup consists of:
Pioneer VSX-D510
RCA RC5240P DVD
Microsoft XBOX
Paradigm v2 Titan Mains
Paradigm v3 CC-170
Kenwood CRS-159 surrounds
Ported 192L Tempest subwoofer

The local Paradigm dealer has Paradigm Micros for $160 CAD and Atoms for $200. I want to use them as surrounds and would cross them over at 100hz to Tempest. Do the Micros extend down to 100 hz well enough? Are the Atoms worth $40 more if they only used for surround? I am leaning towards the Micros due to space constraints and cost but if the Atoms are alot better I may consider them. Thanks.

I'd get the Atoms. With a 100Hz x-over, I would really be looking at something more like Titans, but the Atoms should be fine. The Micros at just 80hz, will just not have enough punch, even for surrounds. I wouldn't call them a lot better, but better spent $$. I used Atoms as surrounds for a few weeks, and ended up trading them in for Titans.

I'd second John and get the Atoms. I just bought my set a month ago.

My Atoms are mounted on the wall. Does the job for my setup!

Enjoy!
