The description of the Yamaha DVD C920 makes it sound ideal. Why has this player not been noticed elsewhere? In the shootout etc? I will look around for this player myself as it sounds interesting.

Its available in Canada.

I couldn't find it in the Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity. The CX1 and S2300 do well, although the CX1 is liked more than the S2300.

The C920 appears to have lots of features. I notice that the C920 DOES NOT have the cross colour supressor, which may be a good thing, but why does the comparison on the Yamaha website say list the CX-1 as having FILM MODE and the C920 as not. I guess that has nothing to do with de-interlacing, right? How is the chroma delay in the C920?

How much is the DVDC920 in Canada?

I just received a spring 2003 Crutchfield catalog and they have the rp-82 listed as "new". Why would they list it if was being discontinued?

Check out my thread on Region-1 RP-82s available in Aruba. Perhaps if you call, they can ship to the US.

Nothing against Crutchfield which is an excellent e-tailer, but a company that size does not always have everything up to date, especially the people that prepare the catalogs. The U.S. RP-82 is dead and buried, available only when someone finds one in a back room somewhere.
