I have a RP56 that is working fine right now. I know that HDDVD
is coming up but I will be at least 2 years from that if not more. If I was able to pick up a good used RP91 for say around $125 would I gain anything? My display is a Hitichi 46F510.

Save your money. That RP56 is an impressive performer, as is the RP82 and RP91.

About 3 years ago i upgraded from an RP56 to an RP91 because I purchased a widescreen TV that locked into stretched mode when it received a 480p 4:3 signal. The RP91 performed just as well as the RP56 on film material but was much worse on video material. If your display doesn't lock into a stretch mode (and you don't need the scaling ability of the RP91) then I would stick with the RP56.

Thats kinda what I suspected. My Display does not lock in to stretch mode on 4:3 material so I figured that the differnece between the 91 and the 56 would probably be minimum.
