Hey guys, I can't seem to get an Optical splitter to work with the Xbox and my DVD player. The way I need it to work is this:

Xbox 360/DVD player --> Optical Splitter --> Into 1 AVR optical port.

The sound works on my DVD player, but the Xbox 360 doesn't come through. Even when the 360 is the only connection on the splitter, it still won't come through.

Look at the cables from the Xbox. Did you remember to take the little plastic dust-cap off the end of the fiber-optic?

I just hooked up my 360 with a Toslink cable, but the sound cut out every few seconds unless I positioned the connector just-so. Then I thought about the cap and sure enough - I forgot to take the cap off the end of the new cable.
