And I don't mean watch it! ;)
I don't know how to adjust these things on how to make it look better. I have noticed 2 quick problems. First, I can see white lines going across the screen. Very annoying. 2nd, when I watch a DVD, which is hooked up through component cables, I see hundreds of tiny little squares that make up this huge checkerboard that run up the screen. Also very annoying.

Time to go out and buy a calibration disc! They really help.

As a first step, find the sharpness control and turn it down. All the way down.

Then get the contrast and get that down a long way below the half-way mark (at a guess) and try to adjust the brightness of the set so that black areas actually look black.

It's hard to set a TV up right using eyes only but that at least should cover the basics.

First check those component cables and
insure they are connected properly then
until you can get a calibration disc
try these setting on your TV and see if
they help
Picture/contrast 70%
Brightness 40%
Color 50%
Hue (slightly left of center
Sharpness 25%
I got these results using a AVIA disc
and Sony KV32 TV.
