Here are my results:

Actor: 5/5 (100%)
Supporting Actor: 4/5 (80%) - had Quaid over Harris
Actress: 5/5(100%)
Supporting Actress: 4/5 (80%) - had Sarandon over Latifah
Animated Film: 5/5 (100%)
Art Direction: 3/5 (60%) - had Talk to Her and Far from Heaven over Road to Perdition and Frida
Cinematography: 4/5 (80%) - had Rings over The Pianist
Costume Design: 3/5 (60%) - had Rings and Far from Heaven over The Hours and The Pianist
Directing: 3/5 (60%) - had Jackson (Rings) and Haynes (Far from Heaven) over The Hours and Almodóvar (varTalk to Her), but I did have Almodóvar in my "In a Perfect World" column
Documentary (Full-Feature): 1/3 guessed (33%)
Documentary (Short Subject): Abstained
Film Editing: 4/5 (80%) - had Adaptation. instead of The Pianist
Foreign Language Film: 2/5 (40%) - only had Hero and Father Amaro correct
Makeup: Screwed this one up, didn't follow rules
Musical Score: 1/5 (20%, OUCH!) - only got Far from Heaven!
Musical Song: 4/5 (80%) - had Rings instead of Thornberries. Wonder if anybody guessed 5/5 on this one :)
Best Picture: 3/5 (60%) - expected this, but I'm happy: I guessed About Schmidt and Far from Heaven instead of Rings and Pianist. I did have Rings in my "Perfect World" column.
Short Film - Animated: Abstained
Short Film - Live Action: Abstained
Sound: 3/5 (60%) - had Far from Heaven and Star Wars instead of Gangs and Perdition.
Sound Editing: 2/3 (66%) - had Star Wars over Perdition
Visual Effects: 2/3 (66%) - had Harry Potter over Spider-Man. Ouch, hard to believe that one, too.
Writing - Adatpted: 2/5 (40%) - only had Hours and Adaptation.
Writing - Original: 3/5 (60%) - had Punch-Drunk Love and Antwone Fisher over Greek Wedding and Y Tu Mama.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the nominees, and (excepting one or two in the technical) I'm not surprised or upset. I'm happy to see The Lord of the Rings recognized again this year for BP, but a little surprised to find Jackson not in for Director (though the 5 that did make it are perfectly understandable).

While I'm a little disappointed that Far from Heaven didn't get nommed in some places I'd have hoped, I am happy to see Talk to Her get more recognition than I'd expected. Not only that, but The Pianist did extremely well, suggesting that the Academy might actually be finally opening up to foreign films.

Congratulations to all the nominees...looking forward to the winner announcements in March!

OK, Scott & Tino (wow dude, talk about under the wire), I've compiled your picks into the consensus and re-posted it above.

Your additions made very few changes, except they did change Actress from Hayek to Streep , and Supporting Actress now shows Latifah as a pick, not a wild card :emoji_thumbsup:. So it was a wash as it affected overall accuracy of the group.

Tonight I'll calculate the accuracy of the HTF consensus picks, as well as rank the individual participants.

Well, it's no 25 of 30 like I got. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't the best in the big 6 catagories.
The HTF as a whole was 27 out of 30. 2 of those misses were in acting categories where our wild card pick prevailed. The only slot in the big 6 where we were ALL snookered was Almodovar over Jackson for Director.

Looks like I scored 26 out of 30, and for two of those misses my wild card got in. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself... :D

Best Actor - 5/5 - 100%
Supporting Actor - 4/5 - 80%
went for the ELS Serkis over the obvious Harris cause I felt like it. :)
Best Actress - 4/5 - 80% didn't think that Diane Lane from seven months ago would beat out the undead Streep, and I haven't seen Unfaithful
Supporting Actress - 4/5 - 80% - I didn't think they'd give one to Latifah (am glad they did though) and went with another personal favorite in Watson (ala Serkis)
Animated Feature Film - 4/5 - 80% - I was predicting a sort of Jimmy Neutron for Wild Thornberry's this year, so this was an upset pick for me over TP
Art Direction - 3/5 - 60% my worst set so far, but I didn't think RTP would get the recognition it deserved and thought Catch Me if YOu Can was excellent in this category, Star Wars was a wildcard upset because I had no idea on more
Cinematography - 4/5 - 80% I had Far From Heaven initially then replaced it when I realized I left out RTP, however Lord of the Rings not getting a nom here was ridiculous in my opinion.
Costume Design - 2/5 - 40% Really disapointed in this category, it's patently ridiculous not to have TTT up here this year, it didn't even win last year and was only nominated. I guess Fifties/sixties period costumes aren't old enough to be considered design like the other period films here, since Catch Me and FFH were shut out.
Directing - 4/5 - 80% Thrilled for Almodovar, but I can't really hold a grudge against any of these other guys, so I really can't complain, PJ will win next year at least.
Documentary Feature - 1/5 - 20% Apparently these are random picks by both me and the academy, although I based mine on LA buzz I'd heard
Documentary Short Subject - 0/4 - 0%
Editing - 4/5 - 80%
not bad I went with HTF buzz for Adaptation, but unsurprised to see The Hours up there
Foreign LAnguage - 2/5 - 40% Another somewhat random category, surprised no city of God though
Makeup - Unawarded by me though I could have got 100%
Music Score - 3/5 - 60%
Annoyed at no TTT unsurprised at no Star Wars alhtough I loved the score. TTT should definitely be up there winning the damn thing again, but that's academy stupidity for you
Music Song- 4/5 - 80% At least Madonna isn't up, but Gollum's song is simply spectacular and should not have been shut out.
BEST PICTURE - 5/5 - 100%
Short Film 0/5 - 0%
I nearly put down Mikes new Car though...

Sound - 3/5 - 60% What can I say? thrilled for RTP, pissed at no Star Wars
Sound Editing - 2/3 - 66% I prefer RTP over my own pick
Visual Effects - 2/3 - 66% I prefer Minority Report vastly over Spider-man and I saw the film twice in theaters, and still wasn't able to figure out what was bad about the effects... my bet is a lot of other people without the lightning freeze frame/blowup eyes of HTF experts also didn't know the effects are supposed to be terrible.
Adapted Screenplay - 3/5 - 60% NOt really surprised though I was routing for TTT
Original Screenplay - 3/5 - 60% I have an ineligble film here I now realize, hmm I probably would have replaced it with MBFGW if I'd thought, since it was fairly likely that the academy would honor it there at the very least.

That's my comparison, out of hte top six, I had 26 of 30 :)

hey I beat Seth in the top six, very cool :)

of the 96 categories I put entries into, I missed thirty, got 66 predictions right for an overall average of
68.75%

That ain't bad, nearly a C grade, and a solid D plus at that :D
