Every radio and tv spot I see for this always says "From the author of The Green Mile" Do they not want to give the image of being writen by Stephen King or what? He would attract fans just by associating his name to the film but are they afraid people won't ee it otherwise?

Perhaps it's a way to get people to actually look into who the author of the Green Mile was, and do a little cross-marketing without spelling it out for the masses. Or it was just a bad marketing move (like who knows that Scott Hicks directed "Shine") to balance out the known with the unknown (but critically praised director of "Shine").

If they say "From Stephen King", audiences might get confused and think it's a horror film or something.
