Last week, I setup a home theater for a friend of my parents. He'd recently blown out his back, and is now mainly confined to his house (driving is painful) and wanted something to entertain him. Anyway, we went over to Bust Buy so he could get a few DVDs to start his collection (and a Mask of Zorro: SE for me as a sign of appreciation for my help!) Well, he decides he wants to pick up The Lost World: Jurrassic Park, since he has the first one on tape. But here's the thing, he picks up a case sees the red "Full Screen" label on the bottom and mutters "This is in full screen... we want widescreen." I pick one up a Dolby Digital widescreen from the bottom shelf (conviently hard to find.) and hand it to him. He thanks me and puts the full screen one back. This guy's in his sixties... is this a sign that people aren't as dumb as we think?
    Anyone else have similiar experiences?

No, but he seems like a real wise man. Did you ask him what experience he had with OAR?

It seems like you were selling this guy short. Kind of like saying all people who frequent Wal-mart are trailer trash and only want their films in full-screen. Pretty ignorant view points like these usually make the prejudiced individual look the silliest.

I was just surprised at it, considering that his VHS collection is entirely in P&S... must of had no choice with those.
And Dan: He doesn't have a DTS capable reciever [IMG]
