To answer the second question, AVdeals IS in Canada, so certainly you can buy from them in Canada. I got mine from them, they are a reputable dealer.

From what I know the Malata 996 does PAL to NTSC conversion correctly, the 900R does NOT.

I just picked up the Daewoo 5700 at Sam's ($990 and it works great.

So far my only software purchase for it is Angel Season 1. I am a new Buffy convert and I figured this was the only way to see these episodes any time soon. They aren't yet in syndication, nor are the DVDs coming out here any time soon.

In fact, my desire to see Angel was the main reason for purchasing the region free player.

I'm going to have to find some other things for it. I hooked it up in my bedroom so I'm using it as my secondary DVD player.

sounds good but isn't their price of $289 in US? And if they are Canadian it's crappy to have free shipping to US and not to Canada don't you guys think?

Is it at any store or other online Canadian store? Or should I stop whining and just order it? (be gentle with me...)
